Anger Management
Groups form throughout the year. Each group has six to eight participants and consists of eight two-hour sessions. Groups are all private pay and eligible for insurance reimbursement. We have separate groups for adults and teens; all groups are co-ed. Participants are given a certificate after the successful completion of the course. Referrals are made by various child protective services agencies, schools (in the case of teenagers), and the courts.
|
Individual Treatment
Patients must commit to engaging in psychotherapy in conjunction with any medication. Dr. Shnaidman provides "medication management" for select patients who are in treatment with other psychotherapists, and accepts a limited number of patients for both medication and psychotherapy in her practice. Open communication and information sharing with the therapist is a requirement for medication management treatment. Although we do not participate with any insurance companies we are happy to provide documentation for reimbursement.

Support Groups
Various support groups form as needed throughout the year. These groups are all self-pay and eligible for insurance reimbursement. We focus on issues such as dealing with a mentally ill family member, surviving divorce, job loss, aging, menopause, and the mid-life crisis. Most groups are time-limited and have six to ten participants. Dr. Shnaidman moderates all the groups in conjunction with several other co-moderators.

Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder - Pychoeducation & Treatment
ADHD
can affect children of every socioeconomic class, ethnicity, and
geographic location. Once unidentified except in its hyperactive form,
the educational system today is particularly geared toward children
with “normal” attention spans. Children with the inattentive form of
ADHD are easily missed and fall through the proverbial cracks. We
offer:
Understanding and supporting your Attention-Deficit Child: We will discuss the presentation of ADHD, diagnostic criteria, possible etiologies, and available interventions. In
addition we will talk about the difficulties of raising a teen with
this disorder and what we can do to optimize their learning and social
skills.
Parenting Your ADHD TEEN: A six-week seminar for psychoeducation and support This
six-week program will cover some of the topics in the one-hour lecture,
but in greater detail. We will also provide a forum for group support.
Parenting any teen ADHD is frustrating and challenging, and adding
ADHD to the equation increases the challenges exponentially. By sharing
our experiences and interventions we can help each other become more
effective at this responsibility.
Please contact our office for more information and to learn when the next six-week session will begin.
